  • What is the difference between RSS feeds and duplicate content when constructing a website?

Posted by admin on December 16th, 2009 and filed under seo class | 2 Comments »

I know that when making a website you cannot have duplicate content if you want to have good SEO and avoid plagiarism but I have seen websites with RRS feeds on their website, which if im not correct is just "pulled data" from another source. Why is that not classed as duplicate content?

RSS feeds are encoded differently, most search engines ignore them in terms of SEO.

If your website post the retrieved data onto a webpage, then you should start worrying about duplication.

It’s a good question actually but i think it’s because the rss aggregator doesn’t get assesed by spiders.
